WAUKEGAN, Ill. & LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

Following on the heels of the proven success of the trend-setting, innovative Blade video gaming cabinet, WMS Gaming Inc., a subsidiary of WMS Industries Inc. WMS, will demonstrate an impressive expansion of the Blade innovative product line, including the introduction of a 3-reel mechanical Blade Stepper gaming machine, special features and dedicated games for international markets, a unique new MONOPOLY™ participation game on the Blade platform and more than 50 inventive new game themes, at the 13th annual Global Gaming Expo (G2E), September 24-26, at the Sands Expo and Convention Center (booth #1118) in Las Vegas. Players have quickly gravitated to the enhanced play mechanics and visual appeal of the Blade portfolio of games enabled by the robust power of WMS' advanced CPU-NXT®3 operating system. The broad range of diverse new game content and innovative play mechanics for the cutting-edge Blade platform are tailored to the cabinet's enhanced graphics and more connected set of high-resolution displays that have made the Blade gaming machine an instant hit with players and casino operators.

New 3-Reel Stepper Introduced

Headlining the expansion of the popular Blade product line is the introduction of a mechanical reel spinning Blade Stepper cabinet designed to appeal to players looking for the authenticity and excitement of the original-type slot gaming machine's classic mechanical reel play mechanics with features that fit in perfectly on today's contemporary slot floor. The Blade Stepper highlights a simplified user interface and button panel, and brings back all the exhilaration of the original “one-armed bandit” with an authentic pull handle mechanism while simultaneously incorporating the advanced technological gaming capabilities of WMS' latest-generation CPU-NXT3 operating platform. The Blade Stepper is being introduced with three new high-denomination themes and five themes for the low-denomination segment of the slot floor.

According to Phil Gelber, Senior Vice President for Product Development at WMS, “The new Blade Stepper cabinet takes its inspiration from players' perceptions and memories of their original slot machine experiences. Utilizing the latest advanced technologies, WMS game developers have taken the insights we've gained through extensive player research and incorporated that feedback into the design of a contemporary gaming machine that combines the appeal of genuine mechanical, reel-spinning action with the high-definition graphics that today's players look for. The Blade Stepper provides a classic slot game experience by offering the real feel of a pull handle mechanism but with a completely modern design and slot floor capabilities. The authenticity and simplicity of the Blade Stepper gaming experience is sure to deliver the same strong player appeal that has quickly become a hallmark of the Blade product line-up.”

Video Themes Expand Four-fold with New Innovative Game Families and Features

For the video reel category, WMS is introducing more than 45 new unique themes for the Blade video product line, expanding on the 14 themes introduced to date. Game themes with differentiated gaming entertainment features such as Speed Spins™, X-Reels™, Supercharged Reels™, Reel Intensity™, Monster Progressives™ and the next-generation Colossal Reels® game family, all highlight the spectacular high-definition graphics and enriched player gaming experience enabled by the cabinet's unique design and latest-generation CPU-NXT3 operating platform. In addition, WMS will debut the Gold Fish®3 game for the Blade cabinet, the Company's first premium for-sale game powered by the CPU-NXT3 platform, which features a bonus wheel and all-new reel interface that takes the player-favorite Gold Fish theme to the next level.

As with the original portfolio of video products, Blade gaming machines will continue to be supported by WMS' innovative, customer-first Portfolio Performance Plan (PPP). This performance-oriented solution is an industry-changing, new value proposition that provides customers with access to a larger portfolio of game content following their initial purchase of a Blade video cabinet, thus enabling casino operators to freshen their floors and engage their players with new games from WMS' extensive pipeline of inventive new games without costly infusions of additional expense or investment.

New Games with a Local Twist for Select International Markets

WMS extends the global appeal of the Blade cabinet with a selection of new multi-game sets and unique Asian dedicated products. According to Gelber, “dedicated Asian-themed base games such as Fortune Palace™, Life of Luck™ and Fortune Ruler™ and the imaginative Yi Lu Fa Local-Area Progressive (LAP) feature have been developed to extend the appeal of the Blade product portfolio for players in Asian markets.” Additionally, three new Game Chest Multi-Game™ product sets that leverage WMS successful game content and a variety of math models in each set into one gaming machine will be showcased for the Company's established Bluebird2e cabinet at G2E, extending the range of game offerings for those customers who desire a multi-game product solution.

New MONOPOLY Participation Game

“One of the exciting new games debuting on the Blade platform at G2E is a new MONOPOLY premium participation game - Luxury Diamonds™,” said Gelber. “The MONOPOLY Luxury Diamonds theme features one of the most popular gaming features for players, a true mechanical spinning wheel for certain bonus rounds, which is coupled with imaginative MONOPOLY based gaming elements. Combining the authenticity of mechanical reel spinning action and the play action of a bonus wheel is sure to make this one of the most compelling MONOPOLY games we've ever developed. ”

See the exciting new Blade Stepper and the more than 50 new games that once again showcase WMS' ability to introduce “A Brand New Game” for players and add excitement to any casino floor, along with the extensive line-up of new games for the Company's Bluebird®2e, Bluebird xD™ and Bluebird xD with optional Metascreen® cabinets and other exciting for-sale and premium participation products that will be sure to engage your casino patrons that will be on display at G2E 2013 (booth #1118).
