LA's Farm to Table Home Delivery Service invites LA residents to submit quick and easy family-friendly food tips and recipes using seasonal organic fruits and veggies, for the chance to win a free Box delivery. This week also sees the launch of a new affordably priced CSA-Style Local Produce box, as well as a new Family Box with mealplan and recipes, including the necessary local ingredients to cook 3 meals (using local grassfed meats and farm fresh veggies), along with a seasonal fruit selection, Fresh-Squeezed OJ, pastured Eggs, Californian Cheese, Local Nuts, Grains, and an artisan-made Regional Specialty, all sourced sustainably from the different Food Groups that make up a well balanced diet, and home delivered in LA.

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) May 13, 2013

Cooking is at the very heart of sustainability, health and community and to help with getting families back into the kitchen, LA's farm to table home delivery service Out Of The Box Collective has created a new CSA-Style Produce box (fruits and veggies) and a new smaller size set Family Box (ingredients and recipes for 3 meals, including veggies, grassfed meats, fruit, eggs, OJ, Regional Specialties and more). It's all part of Out Of The Box's mission to help people get cooking and eating local without spending all day sourcing ingredients and planning their meals.

In his latest book, "Cooked: A Natural History of Transformation," Michael Pollan argues that taking back control of cooking may be the single most important step anyone can take to help make our food system healthier and more sustainable. Meantime, a study published in a Cambridge University journal recently found that a group of 65 year olds who cooked up to five times a week were 47 percent more likely to still be alive after 10 years.

Out of the Box Collective was created to help people take back cooking! The new boxes are designed to make the transition back into the kitchen achievable for even those who haven't got a lot of time to cook on a daily basis:

The CSA-Style Box $45. “A simple selection of in-season fresh produce including locally and sustainably grown fruits and veggies," explains Jennifer Piette, founder of Out Of The Box. "Plenty to get started with a new lifestyle of eating local and cooking more. It's an introductory box... a great first step!" People ordering this box can then add on to their order from the company's online farmer's market, that offers a wide selection of artisan-made prepared foods, and other locally made pantry items, or even local, sustainable wines.

The Family Box (3 Meals) $180. This box includes all the ingredients and recipes to cook 3 dinners to feed a family of four: Out Of The Box Collective's signature Feast Of The Week (perfect for the weekend); a quick and easy vegetarian “Meatless Monday Meal” such as a quiche, omelette or pasta; and a third Easy Meal based around a simple cut of meat like pastured ground beef, stewing meat, sausages, chicken wings, or grassfed hot dogs plus delicious veggies - great for a weeknight! The new box includes all the farm fresh add-ons that everyone loves, from local fruits, fresh-squeezed OJ, CA cheese, and Regional Specialty, to Nuts or Dried Fruit, a Grain or Pulse, and a Fair Trade Item.

In honor of Food Revolution Day, Out Of The Box has launched a great promotion - to give away a full Couples Box to a lucky winner, chosen from any LA resident who submits a healthy, kid-friendly cooking tip on the blog which houses the service's mealplans and recipes.
