Marathon Pipe Line LLC Launches Safe Digging PSA

FINDLAY, Ohio, April 17, 2013 - In support of National Safe Digging Month, Marathon Pipe Line LLC, a subsidiary of MPLX LP MPLX, announced the launch of the first in a series of televised public service announcements (PSA) to promote safe digging. The 30-second PSA featuring actor John Ratzenberger aims to raise awareness of underground utilities and promote the message that safe digging always starts with a free call to 811.

Nearly 20 million miles of underground utilities are buried throughout the U.S, with many less than two feet beneath the surface. Before beginning outdoor projects such as planting trees, installing a fence, or building a deck, a call to 811 alerts the appropriate underground utility owners to mark the specific locations of their utilities with paint or flags.
