Desmond E. Macauley Joins ARMOUR Residential Management LLC as Director of Mortgage Strategy

VERO BEACH, Fla., April 2, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- ARMOUR Residential Management LLC ("ARRM"), manager of ARMOUR Residential REIT, Inc. ARR ARR PrA and ARR PrB) (NYSE MKT: ARR.WS) ("ARMOUR") and JAVELIN Mortgage Investment Corp. JMI ("JAVELIN"), is expanding its strategic expertise in securitized residential mortgage finance and today announced the appointment of Desmond E. Macauley, age 44, as the Director of Mortgage Strategy.

Prior to joining ARRM's management, Mr. Macauley was Managing Director in the MBS Strategy group of RBS Greenwich Capital ("RBS"). In that capacity, he published numerous articles and assessed investment strategies, prepayments and credit performance in the residential MBS sector for clients of the firm. Mr. Macauley has been cited among the top analysts in Structured MBS Securities by the U.S. Institutional Investor survey. Prior to working at RBS, Mr. Macauley was a vice president in the MBS Research group at Merrill Lynch.

Mr. Macauley received his M.B.A. in Finance from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. He also holds an M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a B.S. magna cum laude in Electrical Engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), a Financial Risk Manager (FRM) and a Chartered Market Technician (CMT).
