SmartDebit comments on launch of Direct Debit season ticket for parking
Residents are invited to purchase car park season tickets via Direct Debit.
(PRWEB UK) 17 March 2013
According to the Worcester News, residents of Worcester can now apply for new car park season tickets from Wychavon District Council. Tickets are now available at a reduced rate on an annual, quarterly or monthly basis. Annual tickets are now £400 – reduced from £600 or £40 monthly and are recommended to be purchased via Direct Debit. Car parks in the Droitwich area including Friar Street, Lido Park and Hanbury Road, plus others are covered by the season ticket.
Christine Baxter, Parking Services Manager said, “To be able to pay for the annual tickets by direct debit means that we can now take payments for season tickets in a swift as well as secure way, with the greatest of convenience for customers.”
The recent move is encouraged by the Surrey-based Direct Debit bureau, SmartDebit. The use of this type of payment helps make ticket prices more affordable by reducing the amount over a 12 month period, something that many consumers do with utility bills. A spokesperson from the company explained, “In a tough economic climate, reduced rates and affordable ways to pay bills are hugely popular. Direct Debit is a secure, convenient and quick way to pay for everyday necessities such as car parking tariffs or household bills. Bacs processed over 3.4 billion Direct Debits during 2012 alone, a figure that has continually grown over the past twenty years. We anticipate this figure to continue to rise as organisations, in both the public and private sector, recognise the benefits of collecting payments via Direct Debit.”
SmartDebit is the UK's leading Direct Debit Bureau, specialising in payment processing services since 1998. A Bacs approved Bureau, scoring ‘Excellent' in all five categories of the Bacs audit, and ISO 27001 compliant.
