Third on the list is IRS notice CP180, which states that the taxpayer's income tax return is missing the correct form or schedule. The last notice CTR frequently handles is IRS notice CP19, claiming an increase in taxes owed due to incorrectly filed deductions or credits. These errors are automatically adjusted by the IRS. Taxpayers receiving notice CP19 should compare their income tax returns to the IRS notice, and if the increase is correct, the taxpayer has the standard thirty day period in which to complete the form and return it to the IRS with the requested payment.
