Explore Tibet, a Lhasa-based Tibet tour company, is offering train journeys from Beijing to Lhasa. The 11-day trip will also visit Xian, the ancient capital of China.

“The scenery of the train ride is wonderful,” Explore Tibet have said. “Travellers will see spectacular views of stunning lakes, snowcapped peaks and glaciers, endangered wildlife like Tibetan antelopes, lone nomad families dwelling in black tents and scattered villages.”

Beginning in Beijing, travellers will visit Tiananmen Square, as well as the Forbidden City and the Summer Palace, both of which were imperial palaces for 500 years during the Ming and Qing Dynasties. An excursion to the Great Wall of China is also included.

Travellers will then journey by train to Xian, the ancient capital of China, where they will visit the 2,200 year old Terracotta Warriors.

The tour continues from Xian into Tibet.

“The train will traverse into Qinghai plateau,” Explore Tibet have said. “The appearance of snowcapped mountains will indicate arrival in the Tibetan plateau, where the cloudy and moist weather changes into a dry and sunny blue sky.”

The train will stop in Lhasa, capital of Tibet，the best place for Mount Kailash Pilgrimage.
