Charlotte Personal Injury Lawyer Urges Crash Victims to Seek Compensation, Man Facing One Month Hospital Stay Likely to Have Significant Medical Bills
Charlotte personal injury lawyer Herbert W. Auger of the Auger & Auger law firm advises people who have been seriously hurt in auto accidents to seek the compensation they deserve. A month-long hospital stay for a man injured in an auto accident on I-485 may result in high medical bills.

A man spending a month in the hospital following a car accident on I-485 considers himself lucky. Chris Shupe suffered five broken ribs, a broken arm, leg and broken vertebrae, reported WCNC. Seeking compensation after being seriously injured in an auto accident is a smart decision, said Charlotte personal injury lawyer Herbert W. Auger of the Auger & Auger law firm.
“After being seriously injured in an accident, many people are so grateful that they're alive, they fail to think about the medical bills, rehabilitation, lost paychecks, and other costs involved,” said Auger. “Financial pressure can add stress and impair the process of recovery.”
Shupe was acting as a pilot car for a company moving a mobile home on a flatbed. The crew pulled off the interstate to fix a relatively minor problem with the house. As they were stopped on the side of the road, the pilot car was hit by a SUV driving on the shoulder of the Interstate. Allegedly, the SUV driver was distracted by the GPS he was trying to program, according to WCNC.
“Hiring a lawyer to help is about getting the compensation a victim deserves. More than the money, it's about passing the responsibility to the party responsible for the accident,” said Auger.
Two other people in the car suffered less serious injuries in the accident. According to WCNC, they have broken bones and bruising, but are not hospitalized.
“Many people just want to get back to their lives as they were, but often, the recovery process can be slow. People realize they are losing paychecks from their jobs and missing out on the fun things in life. They're facing life-altering challenges because of someone else's carelessness,” said Auger, founding partner of Auger & Auger, a leading personal injury law firm based in Charlotte.
“Accident victims deserve the compensation to which they are entitled under the law,” added Auger. “It will help them move forward with their lives.”
