Electric TV's LED Energy Video Programming earns recognition from US Government

Denver, CO (PRWEB) February 14, 2013

ElectricTV.net, an Internet site featuring educational and informational videos on the future of energy, specifically electrical energy, has been featured on the U.S. Department of Energy (DoE) website. ElectricTV's is dedicated to raising public awareness of energy issues and emerging technologies and has been recognized for their recent release of their 3-part series on LED light info with a featured article on the on the Department of Energy's website. The piece is available online from the energy.gov website.

You've probably heard of LED's, but aren't certain what LED info you need to know or what advantages LED energy offers the electrical industry. The three part video series addresses these questions and issues. The acronym stands for ‘Light Emitting Diode.' Without going into the technical details, it has been demonstrated beyond the shadow of a doubt that LED advantages are many. Primarily, it's about LED efficiency; the technological advances made in LED's offer much more energy efficiency. When it comes to reducing energy use, Part 1 of ElectricTV's series highlights the potential for significant future energy savings. In fact, according to DOE sources, LED energy savings could amount to $30 billion over the next twenty years – a reduction in energy costs across the board of nearly one-half.

LED lights aren't exactly new – they were invented in the late 1920s and started coming into practical usage in the early 1960s – but until now, they were too expensive for widespread use in general lighting applications. However, between rising economic and environmental costs associated with fossil fuels and the way that all technology falls in price over time, the potential of LED energy savings are rapidly becoming apparent.

Being featured on the DOE website for its ongoing efforts to educate the public is a tribute to ElectricTV.net's quality of information and dedication to promoting awareness of topics relevant to the electrical industry.
