Technology division earns more than $6 million in task orders from USGS

CATOOSA, Okla. (PRWEB) February 11, 2013

Cherokee Nation Technology Solutions, a division of CNB's diversified portfolio, has earned more than $6 million providing research and support for the U.S. Geological Survey.

“Expanding our economic development portfolio with knowledge-based jobs and securing contracts like this is critical to Cherokee Nation Businesses' success,” said Cherokee Nation Principal Chief Bill John Baker. “This new federal contract proves that CNB's technology division is a providing state of the art services to a progressive scientific research agency.”

The work is part of a five-year blanket purchase agreement that began in February 2012. Within the first year, CNTS has received 43 task orders totaling more than $6 million and employing approximately 84 people across the East Coast.

The USGS is comprised of six major disciplines: Water, Ecosystems, Climate and Land-Use Change, Core Science Systems, Energy and Minerals, and Environmental Health and Natural Hazards. CNTS is providing support for USGS's efforts, both domestic and international.

CNTS expects to receive $500,000 in additional task orders and plans to add eight new employees before the end of this quarter.
