The first construction accident, which took place on January 9th according to the Wall Street Journal, involved a crane which collapsed at 46th Avenue and Center Boulevard in Queens and injured seven people and left several trapped. The second fatal accident, reported by The Times Ledger, occurred on January 29th in Astoria, after a construction worker fatally plummeted into a 10-feet-deep hole. The worker was taken to Mt. Sinai Queens Hospital, where he died of his injuries.
