The viewer experience has been strategically and graphically enhanced to provide a more interactive and faster navigation, rapid page-loading, as well as other features such as extensive events calendar, up-to-the-minute news, and student/staff/faculty directories. The website also features video introductions of the arts and academic departments by the department chairs.
As a new dynamic component, the Idyllwild Arts website also offers viewers full-length professionally-produced and edited music, dance, and theatre performances. The Idyllwild Arts Summer Program, now in its 64th year, will run from June 16 - August 11, 2013. It offers a rich and varied schedule of 2-day to 3 week-long hands-on arts workshops for passionate practicing professional/non-professional artists, children, youth, and families. The wide range of classes include music, dance, theatre, filmmaking, visual arts, ceramics, jewelry, painting, creative writing as well as classes in Native American arts. The renowned Native American Arts Festival takes place during the Summer Program and showcases the work of notable Native American artists.

The Summer Program draws nearly 2,000 students of all ages and features the enormously popular Children's, Youth, and Adult Programs as well as Family Camp, a program that enables the whole family to participate in a week-long schedule of art classes and family-friendly activities.

During the Summer Program, students work in an intensely focused, yet relaxed setting that provides a creative environment, detailed technical instruction, and personal attention to individual artistic needs.

Instructors are professional artists and are adept at working with students of all levels, backgrounds and abilities. The experience is enriched by a schedule of fun events and activities including exhibits, lectures, concerts, readings and more.

During its long history, the Summer Program has attracted numerous notable artist-instructors from a wide range of media including Ansel Adams, Elizabeth Murray, Norman Corwin, and Lucille Clifton, Meredith Wilson and Pete Seeger. The Native American Arts program historically has featured such artists as Maria Martinez, Lucy Lewis, Fred Kabotie, Michael Kabotie, Juan Quezada, and Bertha Stevens and many more.

The Idyllwild Arts Academy, the only college-preparatory arts high school on the West Coast, also has an illustrious roster of graduates including American Idol finalist Casey Abrams; contemporary artists Shepard Fairey and Nate Lowman; dancer Neal Beasley; actress Marin Ireland; jazz guitarist Graham Dechter; and Liang Wang, principal oboist for the New York Philharmonic, as well as other notable artists and scholars.
