EL SEGUNDO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

Time Warner Cable SportsNet today announced the details of its LA Galaxy programming as the two-time defending champions head into the 2013 season. The LA Galaxy will have a local TV home for the first time, with all locally-available games airing on Time Warner Cable SportsNet and its sister network Time Warner Cable Deportes. Time Warner Cable SportsNet will telecast its first LA Galaxy game this season on Sunday, March 17 and Galaxy programming includes pre- and post-game “Access SportsNet: Galaxy,” the documentary series “Backstage: Galaxy,” classic “Timeless Galaxy” games and more.

“We can't wait to begin our first full season telecasting LA Galaxy games on Time Warner Cable SportsNet,” said Mark Shuken, Senior Vice President and General Manager, TWC Sports Regional Networks. “Our networks will bring Galaxy fans more access to their team than they've ever had before, and shows like ‘Access SportsNet: Galaxy' and ‘Backstage: Galaxy' will help us take fans behind-the-scenes of the Galaxy on a daily basis.”

“Our partners at Time Warner Cable Sports are delivering Championship-caliber programming that is the model for all teams in Major League Soccer,” said Galaxy President Chris Klein. “In addition to a great team of talent that can tell our story each and every game, the unique programs like ‘Backstage: Galaxy' and ‘Access SportsNet: Galaxy' will give our fans constant access and compelling storylines all season long.”

“Access SportsNet: Galaxy” will be led by studio anchors Chris McGee and Andy Adler and analyst Clint Mathis. The “Access SportsNet: Galaxy” pre-game show will air live prior to each LA Galaxy game, covering every angle leading into the game and featuring opinions, expert analysis and debate. It will also be live during half time. Following the game, the “Access SportsNet: Galaxy” post-game show will provide extensive game highlights, locker room sound, in-depth interviews with players and coaches and a complete game breakdown. “Access SportsNet: Galaxy” will air for all Galaxy matches, including national broadcasts.

“Backstage: Galaxy” will continue in 2013, giving fans behind-the-scenes access as cameras go inside the locker room and on the road with the team all season long. Time Warner Cable SportsNet cameras will follow Galaxy players on and off the field and new episodes will air every two weeks during the season. The series first premiered on Time Warner Cable SportsNet in 2012 as it followed the team in its run up to winning the 2012 MLS Cup and the new season of “Backstage: Galaxy” will debut on Saturday, March 2 at 4:30 p.m.

Other Galaxy programming on Time Warner Cable SportsNet will include classic Galaxy games on “Timeless Galaxy,” re-telecasts of Galaxy games enhanced with social media interaction and bonus commentary on “Encore+” and games condensed into a fast-paced, one-hour format on “Galaxy Compacto.” Additionally, “Access SportsNet” will provide regular coverage of the team on non-game nights throughout the season and Galaxy players and personalities will be featured on the interview show “Connected With…”
