WESTCHESTER, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

Insurance Auto Auctions, Inc. (IAA) the leading live and live-online salvage auto auction company and wholly-owned subsidiary of KAR Auction Services, Inc. KAR, today announced the appointment of Brian Hildreth, director of corporate development, to serve a two-year term as a member representing the interest of salvage yards and auto recyclers on the Bureau of Justice Assistance's (BJA) NMVTIS Advisory Board. Hildreth is one of 25 representatives from key stakeholder groups, including law enforcement, state motor vehicle titling agencies, insurance carriers, auto industry organizations, consumer advocacy organizations and technology partners.

The National Motor Vehicle Title Information System is designed to protect consumers from fraud and unsafe vehicles and to keep stolen vehicles from being resold. The objective of the NMVTIS Advisory Board is to provide critical input and key recommendations to BJA's leadership regarding the effective and efficient administration of NMVTIS. IAA's participation will help reduce crime and maximize public safety benefits of NMVTIS.
