PORTLAND, Ore.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

Myles Conway, a leading Oregon real estate and land use lawyer, has joined Marten Law's Portland office as a partner. Conway, formerly a partner with Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt, assists clients with real estate and development projects throughout the Pacific Northwest and Alaska. Marten Law, whose Portland office has expanded rapidly in the last three years, is the largest environmental and energy firm in the West, with offices in Seattle, Portland, and San Francisco.

"Myles adds breadth and depth to our natural resources practice. His extensive background in land use and real estate will allow us to provide an even broader range of services to our environmental and energy clients,” said Michael Dotten, Managing Partner of Marten Law's Portland Office. “With seven lawyers in Portland, our Oregon practice is blossoming both west and east of the Cascades. We greatly value Myles' depth of experience in Central and Eastern Oregon, and his extensive experience in Alaska fits well with our practice there."

Conway, who will split his time between Portland and Bend, has more than 24 years of experience in the areas of real estate law, land use, public lands, and environmental law. His work includes resort projects, industrial developments, large data center projects, mixed use commercial and residential developments and projects on both public and private lands. He is experienced with all aspects of development permitting and project approval, including the attainment of administrative entitlements and development approvals from a wide variety of federal, state and local agencies.

“Marten Law has an extraordinarily deep bench in environmental and energy law that is a great complement to my real estate and land use practice,” said Conway. “Joining the firm will provide me with increased opportunities to work on the large, complex permitting projects that I enjoy.”

Conway served as Assistant Attorney General for the State of Alaska from 1995 to 2000, where he addressed many natural resource, environmental and public land issues facing the state. Previously, he worked on behalf of plaintiff fishermen in the Exxon Valdez oil spill litigation.

Conway received his J.D. from the University of Oregon School of Law in 1988 and a B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley in 1982.
