Is Yahoo! a Safe Place to Research How to Pass a Drug Test? Expert Weighs In
As a search engine, Yahoo! has rated amazingly well for a number of categories, including helping people answer questions online. Queries range from how to stop a cat from urinating indoors to how to stop a baby from crying. But in one particular category—Yahoo Voices—the answers to questions were markedly different for the world's most pervasive online purveyor of opinions worldwide.
Yahoo Voices allows people and sources who may or may not be vetted in their fields to create essay-like entries answering questions. And, according to Dave Dawkins of PassADrugTest.com, 'when it comes to learning how to pass a drug test, the answers on Voices may be a bit of a misstep.'
Dawkins continues: 'In one entry, the source suggests staying away from products that detox or cleanse the body. But what is not mentioned is that there is a difference from one product to the next. For example, most—but not all—detox products sold online and in health food stores contain adulterants and other chemicals and constituents that cover and conceal toxins in the body rather than removing them. So why should consumers be mislead? Instead, rather, should they not be pointed in the direction of the detox products for passing a drug test that actually remove toxins from the body?'
Dawkins weighed in on the issue, stating: 'There are so few products out there that really detox… I can see why a Yahoo article could easily mislead just as an error on the part of the author—he probably doesn't know that the science used in a tiny minority of these products, like ours, actually cleanses THC and other drug toxins from your body,' adding, 'So many snake oil salesmen have given this industry a bad name, but what scares me the most about that is that people are taking detox into their own hands and drinking bleach because they are so scared of losing their jobs. It's a [sic] shame. No one should be hospitalized or getting in trouble for using someone else's urine to pass a drug test when there are healthy, affordable ways to pass a drug test right at their fingertips. It's just about awareness.'
