Canton, Ohio (PRWEB) January 21, 2013

A New Year means a new beginning and a fresh start for recruiters who want to bill more in 2013 than they did in 2012.

But did they bill more in 2012 than they did in 2011? Top Echelon Network, an elite network of highly specialized search firms, conducted a poll of its membership recently to find out the answer to that question.

According to the results of the poll, 61% of Network recruiters billed more in 2012 than the year before.

As part of that poll, Top Echelon Network asked the following question: “How does your overall ‘cash-in' for this year compare with 2011?”

Over 40% of recruiters (42.4%) indicated that their “cash-in” for 2012 was “up 20% or more” over the previous year. Another 18.6% stated that it was “up 5% to 15%” over 2011. Overall, that means 61% of those responding to the poll billed more in 2012 than they did in 2011.

Almost 19% of recruiters participating in the poll indicated that their “cash-in” was “the same” in 2012 as it was in 2011, 8.5% stated that it was “down 5% to 15%,” and 11.9% chose “down 20% or more” as their answer.

According to Top Echelon Network President Mark Demaree, the results of this poll are encouraging, both for the recruiting industry and the economy overall.

“If recruiters are billing more, it means that companies have hiring needs and they're acting upon those needs,” said Demaree. “It's no secret that there are many open positions in the country right now, millions, in fact. However, the skills needed for these specialized positions are quite scarce and in great demand.

“Since they're in demand, companies are turning to recruiters to help them find the talent they need. There are some positions that, if left open long enough, can have a detrimental impact on a company. Recruiters in Top Echelon Network are working with companies that are trying to fill these cutting-edge positions with the best candidates they can find, and that means more billings and more revenue for Network recruiters.”
