Big Tall Direct Plans to Attend Tradeshow at BATA/Chicago Collective

Big and Tall Associates will show Fall 2013 merchandise for delivery next Christmas.

As part of its planning and merchandising cycle, Big Tall Direct announces it will attend the January 2013 BATA (Big and Tall Associates) Show. BATA is a group comprised of independently owned big and tall stores that attend exhibits inside the Chicago Collective, an annual show of over 100,000 square feet of men's specialty merchandise from 1,000 lines. Well known vendors that will be represented at the show include Nautica, Cubavera, Perry Ellis, Savane, Falcon Bay, Grand River Jeans, and others.

Every year, hundreds of big and tall store buyers meet in a central venue to view merchandise trends and make plans to book merchandise for delivery for the early Fall of the next year. “Just as we get finished with a selling a season, we analyze what categories and styles have sold well, what styles and categories have sold poorly, make clearance decisions based upon inventory position, and then attend tradeshows to plan and purchase for the next year,” said Robert Schlein, President. “Based on our own internal analysis, we expect core basics and our ability to have well stocked positions every day to become even more important to our business,” he added.

Big and Tall Men purchase pocket tees, sweatshirts, sweat pants, jeans, and cotton pants in significant numbers. This year's shortages of Jeans during Christmas impacted sales negatively and Big Tall Direct will look at inventory levels and make adjustments.

Big Tall Direct, one of the largest online web-sellers of clothes for the big and tall man, experienced a downward sales trend for December after a fairly flat selling period in November.

Based in Dallas, Texas, Big Tall Direct is centrally located so that both coasts enjoy speedy delivery even when using ground services from either FedEx or the Postal Service.
