Cosmetic surgery enquiries at Transform at a record high.
Figures from the last year reveal a record high of Brit women are opting for cosmetic surgery.
(PRWEB UK) 16 January 2013
Transform, the UK's largest cosmetic surgery provider, can reveal that 2012 saw a staggering 65% increase in enquiries, with men and women increasingly looking to cosmetic surgery to improve their looks.
Breast augmentations at Transform make up the vast majority of business however, the number of breast procedure enquires rocketed by a massive 60% in the last year.
Similarly, the number of rhinoplasty enquiries has increased by 45%, blepharoplasty by 52% and liposuction by 56%.
Brits are also freshening up their look with non-surgical procedures – with Transform reporting a 78% increase in Botox enquiries, a 42% increase in teeth whitening and a 34% increase in lip enhancement enquiries.
It seems the desire to improve appearances isn't just limited to ladies, as their metro-sexual male counterparts have also been booking in for non-surgical procedures – with men accounting for 44% of all Botox enquiries.
The number of men undergoing gynecomastia surgery has increased by a staggering 28% in the last 12 months, while the second most popular procedure among men is rhinoplasty with the demand increasing by 17%.
Following Wayne Rooney's recent hair transplant in 2012, Transform received a 15% increase in enquiries about battling the baldness.
Eye bag removal, known as a blepharoplasty, and botox remained in fourth and fifth place for the top procedures among men.
Pat Dunion, spokesperson for Transform, comments: “With male celebrities like Matthew McConaughey, David Beckham and Tom Daley regularly showing off their super toned bodies, men have become far more aware of how they look.
“An over-sized male chest area can be the result of a number of different factors, including genetics and weight gain due to lack of exercise and poor diet. “Man boobs” can be difficult to shift using exercise alone and more and more men who are feeling self conscious about the size of their chest area are turning to chest reduction surgery, also known as 'gynaecomastia', to overcome their problem and in many cases boost their confidence.”
