Gramble Social-Gaming Network Shifts Focus to Mobile and Tablet

The Gramble “gaming for good” app, released in open beta December 2012, shifts initial focus to mobile and tablet platforms in response to overwhelming player preference.

The Hague, the Netherlands (PRWEB) January 15, 2013

Charity-funding gaming network Gramble launched its web app (Gramble.com) during the 2012 holidays with the initial goals of testing early social features and activity feeds, providing a pipeline for charitable funding, and boosting charity and developer (and game) visibility by providing a feel-good environment for game players with easy discoverability.

Since its launch, the Gramble app has received over 100,000 hits a day with between 700 and 1000 new users signing up each day to the network. Gramble is doing a great job of retaining its users with over 80% coming back. Players (currently beta testers for the company) are encouraged to contribute feedback on the network, their likes, dislikes, and any bugs they encounter.

“We've had a remarkable response from the players on our network,” says CEO Adam Palmer. “The fantastic thing is: our players are largely requesting social features that are already in our pipeline for 2013,” he adds, citing leaderboards and an improved cross-game global chat system as examples.

However, network data and early feedback have led Gramble to the conclusion that their web version is not yet up to the company's standard of responsiveness and effectiveness. Furthermore, analytics show that 90% of the app's traffic is coming through smartphones and tablets. For this reason, Gramble has announced it will be shifting its short-term strategy to focus solely on the mobile and tablet applications, rolling out and testing new features here before re-launching the web app.

Palmer adds, “When we look at the global data for gaming, the future is without doubt mobile – and more importantly tablet. With both being part of our founding DNA, the prospects for 2013 are looking bright.”

However, Gramble emphasizes that the web app is still instrumental to the company's long-term plans. “A slick web version is in the works,” elaborates Alastair Burns, Gramble's COO. “We plan to deliver it in time for developers to showcase their Gramble presence at the San Francisco GDC March 25-29.”

Expected features in this version include a test sandbox for developers and profile-management tools offering developers and charities more control of their presence and enhanced communication on Gramble, including direct feedback from followers. In addition the company plans to roll out additional SDKs for all popular platforms, featured game status for top developer partners, deeper Facebook integration, and social competition.

About Gramble World
Gramble, part of Gramble World BV (http://www.grambleworld.com), offers a truly progressive social-gaming experience, both technologically and socially. On Gramble, game progress stored on online servers ports from device to device – from smartphones to tablets, PCs, and internet-enabled TVs. Hence, players can pick up their game right where they left off, anytime, anywhere. Players will also be able to challenge friends; compete on leaderboards; share achievements; follow friends', developers', and charities' activities and updates; and catch up with friends, no matter what they're doing on the site, via our global chat system. Better yet, a portion of all revenues generated on Gramble through player ad clicks, purchases, and activity with Gramble's business partners go to charities. Players can even pick which charity partners get the money their playing creates. Gramble offers players a deeper level of interaction with both charities and developer partners, who can build their fanbase on the network through their own dedicated profiles.

Gramble is launching its web app Gramble.com on December 20, with downloadable apps to follow in the App Store and Google Play. Developers who want to get their hands on our super-simple SDKs and learn more about retaining full rights to their own IP through hosting with Gramble are invited to learn more and contact us here.
