Chicago, IL (PRWEB) January 14, 2013
Microsoft is back with their Rock, Paper, Azure competition and they are giving away some awesome prizes including a Microsoft Surface Tablet, an XBOX 360 and some BestBuy gift cards. The contest is running now through January 25th and responsiveX Founder and Windows Azure MVP, Eric D. Boyd, will give you a one up over the opposition by teaching you how to get started with Rock, Paper, Azure, as well as, provide you with tips and tricks to build a winning bot. Eric along with Microsoft technical evangelist Adam Hoffman will present Rock, Paper, Azure at the Chicago .NET Users Group the evening of January 16th. The event will take place at the Microsoft Office in Downers Grove, is free and food will be provided.
The Rock, Paper, Azure contest requires players to create a software bot that competes in a classic game of rock, paper, scissors, but with a couple of twists. Along with the normal objects, players get a couple of additional items like dynamite and water balloons to use strategically to defeat their enemies. “I discovered the Rock, Paper, Azure contest last year during one of the early competitions. I created a bot, entered the competition and had loads of fun.” says Eric. “It is a really fun way to get started kicking the Windows Azure tires and if you're competitive like me, it become very addictive.”
This event will take place on January 16th at the Chicago .NET Users Group (CNUG). The Rock, Paper, Azure session will begin at 8PM. Along with the Rock, Paper, Azure session, Dr. Joe Hummel will be introducing Hadoop on Windows Azure and the new Async/Await capabilities in .NET 4.5. The sessions will kickoff at 5:30PM at the Microsoft Office in Downers Grove.
