Hartford, Conn. (January 14, 2012) – The Connecticut Health Council, an association of health sector leaders who work together to promote Connecticut as a premier center for the development of businesses, initiatives, and technology that improve health care and wellness both nationally and in the State, is pleased to host its second event, ‘The Age Curve' with Kenneth Gronbach, on Friday, January 18th from 7:30-9:30a.m. at the Bushnell Center for the Performing Arts in Hartford, Conn.

A futurist and demographer, Gronbach engages his audience with clear, irrefutable demographic facts to forecast how shifting demography will shape cultures, governments, markets and workforces. He is the author of three books on demographics and generational marketing – The Age Curve: How to Profit from the Coming Demographic Storm; Common Census The Counter-Intuitive Guide to Generational Marketing; and, Decades of Differences.

“Demography is an important topic of consideration for Connecticut's health sector. Ken is an energetic and enlightening presenter and we are delighted to host him,” Oz Griebel, President and CEO, MetroHartford Alliance, said.

During his address, Gronbach will dispel myths and enlighten attendees on how demographic shifts work in the State's favor. He will highlight the relationship between demographic shifts and their related opportunities and challenges, while focusing on demography's relevancy to and projected impact on the State's health sector.

“Don't listen to the naysayers; Connecticut is uniquely positioned demographically for imminent positive social and economic change,” Gronbach said.

The Connecticut Health Council formally launched in December 2012 hosting more than 400 area healthcare and business professionals for its inaugural event. Its second event, ‘The Age Curve' is an example of the diverse and far-reaching programming the Council will bring to the State in 2013 and beyond. The programming and work of the Council's Founding Partners is intended to foster collaboration among health organizations, strengthen the connections between its members, and help showcase the health assets and resources across the State.
