Brillare Hairdressing Academy Student Places in Top 10 for International Sassoon Cut and Color Contest

Fifth annual competition recognizes talents of cosmetology students across North America

A Brillare Hairdressing Academy student has been selected as one of the top 10 finalists for this year's annual international Sassoon Academy l School Connection (SASC) Cut and Color Contest. Both the stylist and the hair model for the finalist entry are Brillare Hairdressing Academy students.

The first, second and third place winners will be announced by Sassoon Academy and their industry partner, Nuts and Bolts Training Company on Sunday, January 27 at the awards ceremony at the International Salon and Spa Expo (ISSE) conference in Long Beach, Calf. (Jan. 26-28, 2013).

“This is an outstanding accomplishment for Brillare in our first full year as a Sasson Academy l School Connection,” said Christa Jones, CEO of Brillare Hairdressing Academy. “Our students and instructors have embraced the Sassoon methods and curriculum, and Brillare students are already creating award-worthy work. We're honored to be recognized by the world-renowned creative team at Sassoon Academy."

“We are so proud of all the Brillare Academy students who participated in this competition,” continued Jones. “Taking part in the contest allows students the opportunity to execute their creative ideas, learn about fashion photography and build their portfolios with beautiful professional photographs.”

To gain entry, more than 100 cosmetology students from schools across the U.S. and Canada submitted before and after photos of their best work to the Sassoon Academy Creative Team. All top 10 finalists will travel to California for the International Salon and Spa Expo, where the top three winners will receive cash and educational prizes from Sassoon.

Students who attend the International Salon and Spa Expo experience the industry's best networking and educational workshops at the biggest beauty exposition and educational event on the West Coast, including private Sassoon technical performances for cosmetology students and a Dermalogica tour in Los Angeles.
