The Inn on First in Napa, California, was recently re-certified by the California State Green Lodging Association. The inn has also implemented several key changes to make it environmentally friendly, including a new array of bath products and new stainless steel reusable water bottles to replace plastic ones.

One key change that the Inn on First has made is to replace individual bath products with new shower and bath amenity dispensers in all guest bathrooms. Most significantly, the inn is now using the Gilchrist-Soames BeeKind collection for shampoo, conditioner and soap. These products contain honey and certified organic extracts of red clover, calendula, lemongrass, chamomile, and are free of artificial colors and dyes.

Other green solutions at The Inn on First include towel service by request only, which saves water and energy, climate controlled guest rooms, in-room recycling bins, low-flow water sources, tank-less water heaters, kitchen waste composting, garden composting and numerous other environmentally friendly solutions.
