Austin, TX (PRWEB) January 04, 2013

Absolute Rights, the fastest growing news and opinion site on the web, has released its latest Digital Newsletter, the first of 2013. Managing Editor Tim Young chose the articles and gathered them for publication to kick off the New Year right, with quality, engaging content.

The main article is by contributor Diane Alden, who describes what she believes to be the roots of the "dumbing down of America." The US government didn't always interfere with the education system, but Alden wrote that by 1852, Massachusetts governor Edward Everett had implemented the Prussian system of education, adding a new wrinkle to the intelligence levels of Americans.

“The Everetts of the world understood that people who could read and understand are dangerous because they are intellectually equipped to find out things for themselves, thus becoming a threat to already established power elites,” wrote Alden.

Unfortunately, this has had negative effects, Alden said in the article. “The history of American education since the acceptance of the Prussian system is checkered with failure and elitism,” she wrote.

The Contender's Corner article in the Newsletter was written by Grady Kerr and features details on President Obama's recent decision to increase pay for federal employees.

“This [raise] gives workers, members of Congress, the Supreme Court and even Vice President Joe Biden a raise. The increases will reportedly take effect in late March and be about 1/2 of 1 percent,” wrote Kerr. “This raise will certainly be welcomed by these federal employees but is this good move at this time?”

Crisis Ops, the rights-protecting, survival-based Newsletter article, new Absolute Rights contributor Karl Dobias challenged gun owners in an open letter-style article.

Put simply, Dobias wrote “I know that every time a Democrat gets elected president, you feel the necessity to go to gun shops and gun shows and snatch up as many guns as you possibly can, but please, cut it out.”

“Nobody is looking at recreational gun lovers in a positive light right now because a lot of us are acting like insane people. Admit that a mistake has been made with such tragedies as Newtown, but be quick to remind those who judge that guns save lives too,” continued Dobias.

The Global Watch article, written by Young, highlighted Egyptian President Mohamed Morsy's declaration that his country was going through a “new era.”

“Morsy says that the people of Egypt are all equal now under this new document, which seems to be in stark contrast to the laws upheld by the Muslim Brotherhood, of which he is a member,” wrote Young in the article.
