CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - Jan. 22, 2013) - The Alberta Snowboarding Association proudly supported the 2nd annual Evolve Open SBX this past weekend at Lake Louise. The 2 day event wrapped up on Sunday and featured male and female athletes across Western Canada aged 8 to 40 years old.

Snowboard Cross (SBX) is a popular snowboard race format that is part of both the Olympics and X-Games. The sport features 4 riders racing over a series of bumps, jumps and curves to the finish line. The fastest 2 competitors of each heat advance to the next round, and the 3rd and 4th placed riders in the heat will get a second chance in the last chance qualifier heat.
