Dr. Goy will be responsible for developing strategies that will integrate research throughout the RCCA network, which includes 92 cancer care specialists at 25 care delivery sites, providing care to more than 230,000 patients. He will focus on novel therapies and biomarker-driven research, a targeted approach to determining how likely a patient may respond to a specific treatment.
“Clinical trials allow us to give patients early-access to possible life-saving treatments,” said Dr. Goy. “Our goal is to ensure that clinical trials are always considered in every step of the treatment decision and that clinical trial participation is made available to our patients closer to their home.”
Dr. Goy is an internationally renowned clinician and researcher. Since joining John Theurer Cancer Center, Dr. Goy has spearheaded the development of its Tissue Bank and led New Jersey's largest program for lymphoma. He has supported the growth of the research program, which now includes more than 200 clinical trials across 14 cancer divisions and includes Phase I, II and III protocols. Dr. Goy has trained at the world's leading medical institutions, including Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, Assistance Publique in Paris (the largest university hospital system in Europe) and The Pasteur Institute, also in Paris.
“Dr. Goy has a proven track-record of successfully leading global research studies that have helped bring life-saving therapies to patients,” said Edward J. Licitra, M.D., Ph.D., Board Chairman, RCCA. “We are pleased to bring his expertise to RCCA for the benefit of our patients.”
