Scientologists Provide Winter Wonderland for Pinellas County Kids

Clearwater Community Volunteers host the 20th Annual Winter Wonderland celebration to bring holiday cheer to Pinellas County children.

Clearwater, Florida (PRWEB) December 17, 2012

The Clearwater Community Volunteers (CCV) are hosting the 20th Annual Winter Wonderland in downtown Clearwater, Florida—a month of holiday cheer and activities for Tampa Bay children.

Every weekend (Thursday through Sunday) from November 23 to December 23, the Winter Wonderland Alpine village sparkles with thousands of Christmas lights. There is live entertainment for the whole family. Children can have their pictures taken with Santa, decorate cookies with Mrs. Clause, take a train or pony ride, visit the hot chocolate shop, and enjoy the playground, bouncy house and giant slide.

Volunteers from Pinellas County Scientology Churches and Missions organize and host this event every winter to celebrate the season, give back to the community, help provide children a memorable holiday, and bring holiday cheer to needy families.

Winter Wonderland admission is free. Guests are encouraged to bring donations of an unwrapped toy or canned goods, which will be distributed to needy families through the Homeless Emergency Project and the Nourish to Flourish program. Winter Wonderland is open Thursday-Sunday, 6–9 p.m. through December 23. It is located at the northwest corner of Fort Harrison Avenue and Drew Street in downtown Clearwater, Florida.

Clearwater Community Volunteers (CCV) is a nonprofit, charitable volunteer organization founded by parishioners of the Church of Scientology in Clearwater. CCV produces Winter Wonderland and the annual Easter Egg Hunt in Clearwater's Coachman Park.

CCV has raised more than $150,000 for children's charities including Nourish to Flourish, Shiners Hospitals for Children, Boys and Girls Club of the Suncoast, the Make-A-Wish Foundation and The Children's Home, Inc.
