Lord of the Rings Uber-Fans Live Out a Dream in New Web Series on RoosterTeeth.com and Blip.com

Austin, TX and Santa Monica, CA (PRWEB) December 14, 2012

Rooster Teeth, the Austin-based production studio behind web series sensation Red vs. Blue, and Blip Studios, the production arm of digital media company Blip, are pleased to announce the launch of an original, new web series, A Simple Walk Into Mordor.

A Simple Walk Into Mordor is the brainchild of two Rooster Teeth staff members, Kerry Shawcross and Chris Demarais. To celebrate the theatrical release of The Hobbit, they set out to do in six days what took Frodo and Sam three movies to complete. They will walk the 120+ mile journey across New Zealand from the filming location of The Shire to the filming location of Mount Doom. Dressed in Hobbit gear and documenting the entire journey on video, Kerry and Chris will sleep on the ground, cross rivers, and eat plenty of Lembas bread along their journey to prove that one simply does walk into Mordor.

When asked how the idea for A Simple Walk Into Mordor came about, Kerry explained, “I was curious as to how far away the sets for the Shire and Mordor were from each other because I thought it would be hilarious if they were actually close. When I found out it was only 120 miles away, I knew I had to try and walk the distance."

The five-episode series takes viewers along on an epic journey that is every fan's dream come true, and while thrilling, could be just as grueling. “This is the ultimate Lord of the Rings fan pilgrimage,” said Chris. “We weren't going to stop until we passed out from exhaustion or destroyed our official Lord of the Rings replica Ring of Power."
