The Arizona Pain Foundation Sponsors 5th Annual Christmas Party for Refugee Children

The Arizona Pain Foundation will help host a “Christmas Party for Children Around the World” this Sunday, December 9th at First Historic Presbyterian Church in Phoenix. Through this 5th annual charity event, volunteers will provide Christmas toys and food for over 800 refugee children in need.

Volunteers from Arizona Pain Specialists' charity organization, The Arizona Pain Foundation, (http://www.arizonapain.com) will be hosting their 5th annual Christmas event for over 800 refugee children and their families. The event will take place this Sunday, December 9th, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at First Historic Presbyterian Church in downtown Phoenix.

“The first year I volunteered, we provided dinner and presents in the Arizona Medical Clinic parking lot for almost 300 children,” says Patti Koblewski, an Arizona Pain Foundation volunteer. “This year we are expecting at least 800 children at a huge church and are hoping to make it an entertaining night that the families will always remember! It is a great feeling to support an event that cares so much for members of the local community, and everyone involved is truly making a difference in the lives of these families.”

The Arizona Pain Foundation will be helping host this “Christmas Party for Children Around the World,” to benefit families from the countries of Burma and Nepal. Volunteers from the foundation will serve alongside Arizona Medical Clinic, City of Grace, and Az-Tech Radiology to provide food for up to 1,000 people, and Christmas gifts for each of the children. This year's party theme is “Adventure to the North Pole,” which will involve volunteers leading groups of children in a train formation to different activity rooms. Activities will include face painting, arts and crafts, balloon animals, a bounce house, and a special guest appearance by Santa Clause.

Many of these children left impoverished and devastating environments to come to America. Their families left everything behind as they had fled war and chaos with only those possessions they could carry with them.

“It is amazing to see how many lives are touched each year by this event,” says Dr. Tory McJunkin, M.D., co-founder of the Arizona Pain Foundation and Arizona Pain Specialists. “The best part of the event is seeing the joy and gratitude of the children, many of which have never received a Christmas gift,” says Dr. McJunkin. We are so blessed and humbled to be able to provide a hot meal and simple toys to so many families.”
