Seattle Washington (PRWEB) December 06, 2012

Rover.com, the in-home dog care industry leader and dog boarding website, announces that it has joined with The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) to raise money for animal protection.

These two industry leaders are teaming up to raise money to help the HSUS to encourage pet adoption, improve animal shelters, provide support to local humane societies, and advocate for animals' health and well-being. The new venture enables Rover.com members nationwide to donate a portion of their dog-sitting proceeds to the HSUS.

“Working with The HSUS enables our tens of thousands of members to contribute to The Humane Society's many vital programs for animal protection,” said Aaron Easterly, CEO of Rover.com. “It's a natural fit for both organizations because we share a strong commitment to the health and safety of animals.”

The money contributed by Rover.com members helps The HSUS to:

  •     Administer animal shelter standards and evaluations
  •     Conduct training programs
  •     Promote pet adoption via national advertising campaigns and outreach
  •     Direct support to local Humane Societies

“The donations collected from our caring Rover.com members will have a widespread impact on all animal shelters, humane societies and dog-based charities across the country,” adds Easterly.

Rover.com invites other rescues, shelters, humane societies, and dog-related causes to contact partners(at)rover(dot)com to learn how they can join the Sit a Dog, Save a life® Donation Program.
The program is free and 100% of donations from Rover.com members are transferred to their chosen partner.
