Vertical Consultants reveals how the increase in data usage and demand reported by Ericsson affects cell tower value.

Nashville, TN (PRWEB) November 29, 2012

Ericsson's Mobility Report, released November 21, 2012, indicates that mobile data traffic doubled between Q3 2011 and Q3 2012. This statistic not only affects the value of cell towers, but the cell tower leases affiliated with the telecom structures as well. The demand is expected to increase twelve fold between 2012 and 2018 with smartphone consumption and online video streaming propelling this growth.

Also noted in the report is the shift to LTE coverage and its need for more efficient data networks to supply enough signal strength to facilitate the coverage. By the end of the year, an estimated 5 million subscribers will use LTE, with that number growing to 1.6 billion by 2018. Until carriers build enough infrastructure for LTE coverage, WCDMA/HSPA networks are shouldering the transitional load, according to Kevin Tofel, Mobile Editor at GigaOM.com.

With constant rise in demand for mobile connectivity, comes the increase in value of the supply (infrastructure in the form of cell towers facilitating wireless connectivity.) Although, under basic supply and demand principles, cell tower and cell tower lease value rises, the property owners leasing their land to house these towers often are not benefiting from such an increase in value.

Vertical Consultants, a telecom consulting firm based in Nashville, Tennessee has been advocating property owners' monetary rights within their cell tower leases since its 2010 inception. Vertical Consultants' results garnered for their clients provide evidence of the wide disparity that exists between property owners and telecom companies.

The telecom consulting firm has established itself as not only a source of needed data for property owners but as a medium for these same property owners to obtain true value for the use and occupancy of their property. In 2011, Vertical Consultants achieved an average of 98% immediate cell tower rent increases for its clients across North America and has, in just over one year, recovered over 100 years' worth of unpaid cell tower rent and expenses, collectively.

Hugh Odom, President and Founder of Vertical Consultants states “Demand for mobile is overwhelming, however, most shocking is the disparity existing between property owners and telecom companies leasing these property owners' land for cell tower placement. With the mission of leveling the playing field between landowners and telecoms in mind, Vertical Consultants has already become a catalyst for positive change in the telecom industry and will continue to be the change property owners need."

Vertical Consultants was founded in 2010 by Hugh Odom and is comprised of group of telecom experts with decades of combined telecom experience. Vertical Consultants prides itself as the only true landowner advocate, handling all aspects of a telecom lease from start to finish while garnering unmatched results for their clients.
