New York Partners Will Discuss Current Legal Trends for Collateral Protection for Financial Assets

Two New York Haynes and Boone, LLP partners have been named as panelists for the Strafford Continued Learning Education (CLE) live webinar, “Collateral Protection for Financial Assets: Current Legal Trends” on Tuesday, Dec. 4.

Haynes and Boone Partners Craig Unterberg and Daren Domina will be part of a panel that will discuss current trends with respect to the protection of financial assets post-Lehman and MF Global. In addition, the panelists with explain the intricacies of the robust legal framework of the asset protection systems in the United States.

The panelists will also address insolvency issues related to financial institutions, the potential impact of Dodd-Frank on certain collateral structures and the methods being used by financial institutions to maintain the necessary liens and controls over financial assets in the current environment.

Craig Unterberg is the head of the firm's Prime Brokerage and Equity Lending Practice Group. He concentrates his practice in the representation of borrowers and lenders in secured and unsecured lending and finance transactions, including margin stock lending, private equity and hedge fund financings, syndicated financings, mergers and acquisition financings, and distressed debt transactions.

Daren Domina serves as a partner in the firm's Investment Funds and Private Equity Practice Group. He provides advice primarily to securities broker-dealers and registered and unregistered investment advisers on a broad range of registration, regulatory, compliance and inspection/enforcement matters, including regulatory issues relating to private investment funds.
