Saturday, Dec. 1, 3:00–5:00PM, Richmond Public Library, Madeline F. Whittlesey Community Room, 325 Civic Center Plaza, Richmond, CA 94804.
“One of the big challenges that students in Richmond have is that their education is seen as inadequate and they aren't taken as seriously as students from other districts," says Milca Baires, Richmond High School senior. "It is up to us to prove them wrong.”
Panelists of youth and youth service providers lead off the interactive discussion to explore the voices and concerns of YOUTH in Richmond. RAW Talent, a group of Making Waves Education Program will perform spoken word that reflects the youth experience in Richmond. Light refreshments will be offered at the FREE event.
