Pingar's solutions improve access to data for better decision-making, business analytics and optimisation.

Shen Zhen, China (PRWEB) November 15, 2012

Pingar, a leading provider of unstructured data management solutions, is holding the first public demonstrations of new technology to help Chinese businesses better manage information and reduce risk at the China Hi-Tech Fair, opening today in Shen Zhen.

Pingar's solutions enable businesses to analyse, organise and summarise the information contained within large numbers of Chinese text documents to gain better insight and understanding into business practices. Demonstrations will be held at the China Hi-Tech Fair, Hall 9 booth 9H06 16th – 21st November 2012.

Mark Lunt, managing director, Pingar Hong Kong Ltd says analyst research shows enterprises in Asia rank business analytics at the top of technologies that will allow organisations to gain significant competitive advantage.

“Companies doing business in or with China need to gain efficiencies through better data management. Tools to help enterprises gain advantage through the analysis and better organisation of data already exist for English and other western languages. Because Chinese text is complex, until now there have been few solutions that provide results which can significantly improve businesses' performance and profitability,” Mr. Lunt says.

Pingar has recently completed the integration of new, advanced research in Chinese language processing and analysis that it has been conducting in partnership with the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (“PolyU”). The solution now has improved ability to bring unstructured content into structured processes, making the information more easily found and organised within enterprise content management solutions such as Microsoft SharePoint.

Mr. Lunt continues, “This update to our technology helps Chinese businesses establish a level playing field with Western businesses using text analysis and data mining techniques to manage Big Data and gain efficiencies and insight into businesses processes”.

By automatically adding consistent, intelligent metadata to documents, Pingar solutions streamline IT processes, preserve resources and provide a platform that increases use and interaction with content.

Organisations in information-rich sectors including government, financial, legal, commercial, utilities and infrastructure need better tools to manage Chinese language documents. In line with global trends, more and more of these documents are unstructured files, and often all that can be easily detected about them is date of creation or modification and filename, making it difficult to determine if they contain sensitive or useful information.

Pingar demonstrated its Chinese language technology at the New Zealand Pavilion at the Shanghai Expo in July 2010. Witnessed by New Zealand Communications and Information Technology Minister Steven Joyce, Pingar signed a Memorandum of Understanding with one of China's largest and most prestigious tertiary institutions, the East China Normal University of Shanghai in October that year.
