Rutberg, retired Judge of the Superior Court, brings a wealth of mediation and arbitration experience to the panel with over 25 years of expertise in resolving cases of all types.

As a trial judge in Southern California, Judge Rutberg settled and mediated hundreds of civil matters. Since 2003, he has been a full-time neutral, serving as mediator, arbitrator, and discovery referee. His practice areas include personal injury, products liability, business/commercial, construction, real estate, HOA disputes, and professional malpractice, both legal and medical.

Judge Rutberg graduated from UCLA (Phi Beta Kappa) and UCLA Law School, where he served on the Law Review. Prior to his appointment to the bench, he practiced law in Beverly Hills and Los Angeles, emphasizing family law, business disputes, personal injury litigation, construction, and real estate law. He is a former instructor at the University of La Verne School of Law, where he taught mediation, arbitration, and trial, as well as a former instructor of Business Law at California State University, Northridge. While on the bench, Judge Rutberg served as an Associate Justice Pro Tempore, Court of Appeal, Second Appellate District, Division Five, and authored two published opinions.
