Award winning Jackson interior designer provides Denver readers with the latest in contemporary holiday design trends

Denver, CO (PRWEB) November 13, 2012

Grace Home Design, a nationally known interior-decorating firm based in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, was recently highlighted in a Denver Post article offering its readers some fresh, contemporary holiday interior decorating ideas. Jennifer Visosky, proprietor of Grace Home Design, was one of a number of regional interior design experts selected to offer innovative suggestions for this year's holiday season design and home décor tips.

One of the major holiday design trends this year is change. Many of us get into a rut, using and reusing the same old items year after year. Often, we keep elements that no longer do anything for us – such as chairs that are never sat in or ornaments and nick-knacks that we hardly look at anymore. For those who embrace change and look for the latest in style and trends, Grace Home Design is the perfect match.

With that in mind, consider that old habits are comfortable to be sure, but don't let them hold you back. The featured holiday home decorating tips let you find new and lively ways to be creative and brighten your holidays with advice straight from the regions most contemporary designers.

Ms. Visosky is in agreement with her colleagues when it comes to starting over with a fresh palette and thinking out of the box. “I'm mad for plaid,” she says. Her own design studio now sports bright red, white and black tartan wallpaper from Cole & Son that features a “rumpled fabric” look and gives a festive appearance to a room. Bright, bold colors are especially important during the late fall and winter months, when our normally bright seasonal hues turn into dull shades of gray.

Like color, it's also time for individuals to be bold and adventurous. Don't be afraid to experiment, Ms. Visosky suggests. She says, “Erring on the safe side is more of a catastrophe...you're never going to know unless you play with it.” On the other hand, don't just start using anything simply in order to fill up an area. Visosky says, “I'd rather see an empty space than anything that is just 'there'.”

All of the expert designers and home decorators featured in the Denver Post piece agree: start out with an empty box and some imagination. Consider not only objects and colors, but textures as well. And above all, do what feels good and appeals to your own sense of aesthetics.
