On November 5, 2012, Plaintiff Kenneth Lipkins filed a lawsuit in the District of Maryland seeking overtime wages from his former employer, CCS Services, Inc. The Complaint asserts that CCS Services failed to pay its hourly-paid employees the proper overtime wages they were entitled to when they worked more than forty hours in a workweek. The complaint alleges that CCS Services violated both federal overtime laws, as well as state overtime laws in Maryland and the District of Columbia.

CCS Services, Inc. is a security firm headquartered in Landover Hills, Maryland, and employs security personnel at locations in Maryland, Virginia, the District of Columbia, and Florida. Attorney Adam Hansen of Nichols Kaster, PLLP stated, “Security guards for CCS Services routinely work more than 40 hour a week, and are not paid time-and-a-half overtime as required by federal and state law."
