DXE Medical, Inc. and AED.com Top 23,000 AEDs
During its 13 years of business, DXE Medical has sold over 23,000 AEDs and promises to continue its excellent customer service.
Brentwood, TN (PRWEB) November 07, 2012
Since starting their business as Dixie Medical, Inc. in 1999, DXE Medical and AED.com have sold over 23,000 AEDs (automated external defibrillators)—23,477 as of the end of October 2012 to be exact. DXE has sold both new and re-certified AEDs domestically and worldwide to a variety of customers, including fitness centers, public buildings, schools, EMS services, fire departments, city, state, county and municipal governments, the military and various other arenas.
“We are often guilty of focusing too much on the business of selling AEDs, and occasionally lose sight of the fact that we are selling devices that actually save lives,” says Matthew Spencer, President of DXE Medical and AED.com. Over the last 13 years, the AED market and AEDs themselves have changed. “AEDs could only be used by trained emergency personnel when we started. Now, a bystander to a sudden cardiac arrest can save a victim's life if an AED is accessible by simply following both verbal and visual instructions provided from the AED,” explains Spencer.
Most states have passed laws requiring AEDs in schools and government buildings, and every state has passed a Good Samaritan Law protecting AED users from liability. As AEDs become more affordable and the public continues to be educated about these devices and their value, more units will be deployed. “The AED market is constantly growing and is only limited to the number of buildings inhabited and cars on the road. Each of our employees carries an AED in their vehicle…just in case,” comments Spencer. Whether at home, a restaurant, ball field or elsewhere, DXE employees are prepared to provide aid to a sudden cardiac arrest victim.
