The Executive Director of Athanatos Christian Ministries, Anthony Horvath, released a statement today calling on anyone with pro-life views making abortion their 'one issue.'

In the statement directed to people who have pro-life values, Horvath says, "With election day tomorrow there are many people still deliberating on who to vote for. Some people, who may consider themselves pro-life, may be torn by other issues, such as their support for universal health care or ‘social justice,' which they believe Obama and the Democrats might support. In fact, when asked to vote ‘pro-life' they might say that they are voting pro-life, because they are voting to give care and comfort for those already living."

However, Horvath argues that when one believes that there is a real life at risk, no one really believes they should step aside and leave it as merely a matter of one's personal choice.

Horvath says that this view embodies the idea that "the state decides when a person is a person." Based on that reasoning, Horvath points out, other people have decided that even people who are out of the womb can be killed. Peter Singer and Julian Savulescu are referenced, linking back to a blog entry he wrote detailing their perspectives.

Horvath's basic argument is that if you will not protect life in the womb, you should not expect life to be protected outside the womb, "In short, if you will not make the preservation of life your one issue while that life is in the womb, there is every indication that in due time life outside the womb–perhaps yours–may be targeted. It has happened before. Before everything else, you should support life."

Anthony Horvath is also the author of the book, "We Chose Life: Why You Should Too."
