Jennifer will use scholarship to increase her design skills and gain employment in her field

New York, NY (PRWEB) November 05, 2012

Jennifer Won, who has been struggling to stay in the design field, using primarily self taught skills, is the announced winner of the NetCom Learning Sarder Scholarship for August 2012. The Sarder Scholarship is provided to deserving individuals on a monthly basis who are looking to increase their skill level or gain certifications in the field of Information Technology, Graphics or Web Design. The scholarship award for $2,500 allows the winner to further their education, and fulfills NetCom's mission of promoting lifelong learning.

Jennifer is currently a part time graphic designer using Adobe Photoshop which she taught herself. She was attending Pratt Institute in design but was unable to meet tuition and living expenses. A life without design is not an option for Jennifer, so she has been trying to figure out a way to pursue her dream in the world of design without a college degree. She has been able to pick up work from major magazine companies such as Martha Stewart and Cosmopolitan Magazine but her lack of education and training has restricted her earning capacities.

“Jennifer is just the right person for our Sarder Scholarship,” said Russell Sarder, the CEO of NetCom Learning. “She is motivated, she knows what she wants and she knows that it is going to take education to get there. NetCom Learning classes will provide the training she needs in combination with her design talents, so she can get the salary she wants. In addition, our classes have now been approved for college credit, so a college degree may still be in Jennifer's future,” said Sarder.

“This scholarship will help me gain the skills to get employed and stay in the design field,” Jennifer said. “I am someone in financial need, who wants to learn. I have already taught myself the advanced techniques in Photoshop and obtained work from top companies, but I really need to keep this momentum going with quality authorized training. I would love to learn inDesign, Dreamweaver, After Effects, Flash and Coding. When I have all the skills I need I want to create a website like Kickstarter but for college kids who don't have the financial means to get their education.” To find out more about the Sarder Scholarship visit http://www.netcomlearning.com/scholarship/sarder-scholarship.phtml
