Aicent Participates in Successful Multi Operator VoLTE Interworking and Roaming Tests
Joins industry leaders in a multi-vendor, multi-operator global trial helping to drive development of 4G/LTE mobile networks.
San Jose, CA (PRWEB) November 05, 2012
Aicent, a leading provider of IP eXchange (IPX) and LTE Roaming services for global mobile operators, today announced the successful testing of VoLTE interworking and roaming between two labs located in China and Europe during the RCS VoLTE 2012 Event. The testing event, backed by major operators China Mobile, Telecom Slovenia and sponsor operator Verizon, focused on validating key network interfaces as well as functions, and ensuring multi-vendor deployment strategies for RCS/VoLTE/LTE/EPC/IMS technology.
Looking to develop an effective RCS VoLTE interworking and roaming between the two identified testing locations in China and Europe, Aicent was able to successfully facilitate connections utilizing their industry leading Diameter Routing Platforms (DRP) for LTE roaming, in addition to tapping their Aicent IPX voice platform including SIP proxy and Media Gateway for IMS roaming and interworking.
“Aicent is excited to have taken part in the RCS VoLTE Interoperability Event this year, and are pleased that our IPX service infrastructure and our DRP solution performed successfully in the interoperability testing of VoLTE interworking and roaming in a lab-to-lab scenario,” said David Zhang, CTO of Aicent. “As a leading service supplier of LTE roaming and IPX Services, Aicent is dedicated to developing standards-based VoLTE interworking and roaming initiatives for the telecommunications industry -- further advancing the technology while establishing acceptable criterions that will ultimately help further promote the implementation and acceptance of LTE based voice services.”
Enabled by Aicent's QoS IPX Transport network, SIP proxy and Aicent's service management suites, packet voice interworking, including VoLTE interworking, has been successfully developed as an IPX Voice service under Aicent's IPX framework. Supported by key features from Aicent's IPX LTE data roaming service, Aicent's IPX facilitates VoLTE roaming in addition to VoLTE interworking for mobile operators.
“The RCS VoLTE Interoperability event reflects the MSF's commitment to carrier-driven interoperability events that validate key emerging standards and technologies, including key network interfaces that ensure multi- vendor deployment strategies for RCS/LTE/EPC/IMS technology. We are pleased that Aicent participated at the 2012 event,” said Kyu-Ouk Lee, MSF President.
About the RCS VoLTE Event 2012
The MSF, ETSI and GSMA worked in partnership to host the RCS VoLTE 2012 Event, which took place September 24 to October 12, 2012. The event built on the major success of the previous MSF VoLTE Interoperability Event that took place during September 2011 and reflects the MSF's, ETSI's and GSMA's drive to continue to deliver major carrier driven events that benefit all its members in their quest to keep pace with an ever faster moving industry. The MSF/ETSI/GSMA VoLTE Interoperability test event focused on validating core network interfaces to ensure multi-vendor deployment strategies for VoLTE and RCS technology and validated the MSF/ETSI testing scenarios developed to incorporate 3GPP LTE/EPC technology and GSMA technical recommendations, focusing on Voice over LTE and RCS, with the support of hosts China Mobile in Beijing and Telecom Slovenia Group at the Sintesio lab in Kranj, Slovenia.http://www.msforum.org/interoperability/RCSVoLTE.shtml
