On November 5, 2012, commuter bikes manufacturer Linus Bike releases statement following an article published by the Chicago Tribune on Cynthia Bell's efforts to keep fellow cyclists safe.

According to Dawn Turner Trice, “The Cynthia Bell of today is a passionate cyclist who puts on her helmet and rides from her North Lawndale home to her job in downtown Chicago.

Sometimes during the day she even rides to far-flung neighborhoods for appointments.”The article reports that Bell serves as a community liaison with the Active Transportation Alliance. “Bell said the most important part of her job is to build and maintain relationships with communities. She said whenever there's a crash and a cyclist is injured or killed, she works even harder to push for protective bike lanes and other ways to keep bikers safe,” continued Trice.

According to Jason Latty, Sales Manager for the environmentally friendly commuter bikes manufacturer Linus Bike, “It's inspiring to see a young woman and avid cyclist doing her best to secure the safety of others. We hope that other advocacy groups and individuals will continue to make the safety of cyclists everywhere a priority. Commuting via bicycle has so many benefits for individual health and the environment that with an emphasis on safety, there be even less of an excuse for anyone to put off such a great means of transportation.”

Linus Bike is a California-based bicycle manufacturer that specializes in creating vintage style city bikes and commuter bikes. Not simply a bicycle company, Linus Bike sells a complete line of accessories for the environmentally conscious and for those who have a fondness for European style bicycles and the great tradition of European cycling.
