SmartDebit Comment on YouGov Research on Government Outsourcing
SmartDebit, the leading UK Direct Debit Bureau, have assessed the benefits of Direct Debit to a business's invoicing policy as YouGov research suggests local authorities plan to outsource 32% of all services by 2014/2015.
(PRWEB UK) 5 November 2012
According to YouGov research, 26 per cent of all services are outsourced as councils look to align their operations to ensure savings and efficiencies are made where possible. Authorities have reported savings of 16 per cent to date but are required to achieve another 18 per cent by 2014/15. Councils who need to make over 25 per cent efficiency savings or have budgets of over £100 million are planning to outsource 60 per cent of all services.
In terms of payment collections, outsourcing to a company such as SmartDebit, can be really effective for local authorities looking to collect regular payments, for example, council tax or membership fees to leisure centres, swimming pools, golf clubs and libraries.
A spokesperson from SmartDebit commented “The public sector has come under increased pressure in recent years and this report shows that it is set to continue. Many public sector organisations can make a real difference in terms of cost and time saving through outsourcing without reducing the level and quality of services provided” he says.
“The UK Government has strict policies with regards to security and resilience when selecting companies to outsource to. Our investment into a market leading security environment and ISO 27001 Certification goes over and above the required stipulations to operate as a Direct Debit bureau”.
