The economic recovery has been a slow one in the U.S., but there are signs indicating that 2012 is a better year than 2011, especially for executive recruiting firms.

The level of success that recruiting firms enjoy is often a reflection of how willing companies are to hire new employees, and those companies' willingness to hire is often a reflection of the health of the economy overall. So to some degree, the more successful recruiters are, the more robust the employment marketplace and the economy are, as well.

According to a recent poll conducted by Top Echelon Network, an elite network of highly specialized search firms, nearly half of the Network's Preferred Member recruiters are on track to exceed their personal billings of a year ago.

As part of that poll, Top Echelon Network asked the following question: “So far in 2012, are you on track to match your personal billings of a year ago?”

Nearly half of the respondents (48.6%) indicated “Yes, I'm on track to match them AND exceed them.” In addition, 18.6% chose “Yes, I'm on track to match them” as their answer.

On the flip side of the coin, 28.6% of poll participants selected “No, I'm not on track to match them,” while only 1.4% chose “I don't really know at this point.”

According to Top Echelon Network Membership Development Coordinator Drea Codispoti, CPC/CERS, these poll results are indicative of the increase in activity level experienced by Network recruiters, regardless of the niche in which they work.

“To have nearly half of the recruiters in this poll confident that they will exceed their personal billings of a year ago is good news,” said Codispoti. “While it's true that the past few years have been down ones for the economy overall and for recruiting firms, that trend appears to have reversed itself. Billings and revenue for recruiters are improving, and there's a good chance that improvement will continue into 2013.”

Top Echelon Network was founded in 1988 in Canton, Ohio.
