Movember: Changing the Face of Men's Health
Employees at CDPHP are doing their part to create awareness about men's health issues, participating in a national movement called "Movember." The men will spend the next 30 days growing a moustache to raise awareness and funding for prostate and testicular cancers.
Albany, NY (PRWEB) November 03, 2012
It's called Movember. And it's a global movement designed to create awareness and raise critical funding for men's health issues, particularly prostate and testicular cancers. Throughout the month of November, men all over the world – and right here at CDPHP® – are growing moustaches to become part of the moustache movement.
Today, almost three dozen CDPHP employees, including president and CEO, Dr. John Bennett, came to work clean-shaven. They'll spend the next 30 days growing a “Mo” to raise money by seeking sponsorships for their Mo-growing efforts. The money raised will go to programs like the Prostate Cancer Foundation and the LIVESTRONG Foundation.
While the growing of a Mo is limited to men, women play a vital role in the success of Movember by supporting and encouraging the men in their life to get involved.
Visit the CDPHP Facebook page throughout the month of November to see photos of CDPHP employees as they grow a Mo for a good cause!
Established in 1984, CDPHP is a physician-founded, member-focused and community-based not-for-profit health plan that offers high-quality affordable health insurance plans to members in 24 counties throughout New York. CDPHP is also on Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
