Colleen Furlan, the Winnipeg star of CBC's Over the Rainbow may have missed the opportunity to play Dorothy in Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber's stage version of The Wizard of Oz, but Winnipeggers have an opportunity to see this rising star in person. The multitalented performer, who made it to the top four on the CBC show, will perform and attend the WHS's Wizard of Paws Bow Wow Ball gala dinner & dance held on November 10 at the Fairmont Winnipeg.
Colleen Furlan and the Furlan family have been long supporters of The WHS. “The timing of her return home could not be more perfect,” says Bill McDonald WHS CEO, “We were rooting for her to win the lead role as Dorothy. But, we are extremely happy we can welcome her home to celebrate her success at our Wizard of Paws themed fundraising dinner.”
Colleen will be kicking off the evening with a performance of Dorothy's signature song. Along with dinner, dancing, and cocktails, attendees can expect a live auction, a silent auction and a balloon draw. Some of the fabulous prizes to be won include trips to Jamaica, New York, and Churchill, as well as a seven night stay in Lake Louise.
