This week, the New York Institute of Photography, the world's largest and oldest photography school, introduces a new wedding photography lesson into its renowned Complete Course in Professional Photography. The new lesson was written by Clay Blackmore, an innovator in the world of photography and portraiture.
Today's weddings are filled with options, and these can be points of confusion for the beginning wedding photographer. Clay shares his years of experience to help photographers focus on the most important "must have" shots, and walks us through the mechanics of how to set up and manage the key stages of a wedding day.
The new wedding photography lesson is filled with inspiring photographs showing all aspects of a customer's wedding album, and Clay gives practical advice on how to compile an album for clients. Students will be treated to the new material when they reach Unit Four of the Professional Photography Course.
Being a wedding photographer is all about managing people, from the bride's grandparents to the official performing the ceremony. Clay tells us how to effectively take charge of each stage of a wedding, and how to work with a wedding planner or take the planner's place if there is no one officially "in charge."
“At NYIP, we pride ourselves on providing students with the best photography education available,” said Chuck DeLaney, NYIP's Director, “and working with Clay Blackmore was a perfect opportunity to gain insights from one of the most influential and sought-after photographers in the world.”
The New York Institute of Photography offers three great home-study photography courses. Founded in 1910, NYIP is the oldest and largest photography school in the world, having successfully trained thousands of photographers over more than 100 years. Located in the heart of the art capital of the world, New York City, NYIP brings high quality photography education straight to its students' doors. NYIP is owned and operated by Distance Education Co., LLC, with two sister schools also located in Manhattan, the Sheffield School and the New York Institute of Career Development.
