Membership to Delta Travel, a private, members only travel club, can only be obtained by attending a presentation at their Valencia location. By being a member, clients can avoid the hassle of going online and searching for their own travel accommodations.
According to The Wall Street Journal article on August 23, 2012, reporting that "Orbitz has found that people who use Mac computers spend as much as 30% more a night on hotels, so the online travel agency is starting to show them different, and sometimes costlier, travel options than Windows visitors see."
The Journal also reported, "Mac users are 40 percent more likely to book a four or five-star hotel than PC users and when Mac and PC users book the same hotel, Mac users tend to stay in more expensive rooms."
According to USA Today, Orbitz CEO Barney Harford defended what Orbitz is doing. Harford said, "Just as Mac users are willing to pay more for higher end computers, at Orbitz we've seen that Mac users are 40% more likely to book 4 or 5 star hotels as compared to PC users, and that just one of many factors that determine which hotels to recommend a given customer as part of our efforts to show customers the most relevant hotels possible."
