Wayne County Treasurer Raymond J. Wojtowicz announced today that his office recovered millions of dollars in back taxes from its efforts to sell 22,505 tax-foreclosed properties online with 12,049 properties successfully sold at auction between the September and October tax- defaulted property sales.

This year's tax sale grossed $51,814,456 for the county. “The online tax sale helped the county put 12,049 properties back onto the tax rolls and helped place many families back into homes. The money recovered through the tax sale goes towards essential government services such as emergency services, public utilities and public schools. We are very pleased with the results of this year's online tax sale auction.” said Wojtowicz.

The Wayne County, MI tax sale was a record breaker for Bid4Assets. “In Bid4Assets' history we have never sold this many properties for a county tax sale in one year. I am pleased that we were able to hold a very successful auction for Wayne County which lead to the recovery of millions of dollars for the county. We had bidders from all over the world participate in the sale.” said Will Scott, Senior Director, Government Services.
